DCU Sport recently scooped the prestigious Excellence Ireland Quality Association National Award for Excellence. The campus and sports centre receive the award for the second year in a row.
The Q mark for leisure centres was one of over 25 awards issued by Excellence Ireland Quality Association (EIQA). The ceremony took place on Friday September 27th in The Burlington Hotel, Ballsbridge.
The award “recognises companies and organisations that have successfully implemented the Q Mark programme of choice.” The awards were issued in front of an audience of more than 800 people.
“We are delighted to receive, for a second year running, this acknowledgement of our commitment to quality and excellence here at DCU Sport” said Ken Robinson, CEO of DCU Sport.
“This award is testament to the efforts and professionalism of all DCU Sport staff in delivering a premium experience to our clients, whether students, staff or members of the public”.
Established in 1969, EIQA and is well renowned for its hygiene and quality programmes. As well as DCU’s leisure centre, EIQA also distributed awards to bakeries, restaurants and nursing homes.
The association conducts over 3,000 audits every year in both private and public sectors, as well as not for profit sectors. These audits “facilitate and promote the use of innovative certification programmes to add value to organisations and enhance the standing of quality professionals”.
