Robbie Reid is a final year chemical and pharmaceutical science student in DCU and is running for Vice President for Education. He was also class rep for 4 years here and has sat on the electoral committee.
Robbie feels that “the communication issue” between students and the SU is “really, really major”

Robbie himself has been proactive about this “major problem” and has got in contact with Nicola Leddy, the students union marketing and communications coordinator.

For Robbie this is all about finding out what students want and keeping up with them.

Not only is Robbie asking the students exactly what they want he also has a few ideas of his own.

Robbie thinks a text service will help student participation on campus but also voting numbers in elections and referenda. He mentioned the recent college view survey which noted the low level of information students seem to receive as regards voting.

Another thing Robbie wants to do as education officer is a “compensation guideline” to help students who don’t know how it works.

All the services the college provides are also something Robbie wants to hilglight. He feels that students need to get more out of them.

Robbie is dyslexic and wants to make the disability service more accessible.
