Chair – Sam Kennedy

Sam Kennedy is a final-year Communications student who recently took on the role of Society Chair. His job is to ensure the smooth and safe running of the society, as well as “being the face” of MPS. Whether it’s making sure events go to plan, supporting the committee, helping members, or simply ensuring everyone is having fun, Sam is there to represent it all. He previously fulfilled the role of TV Manager (2024/2025) and currently freelances as a TV Production Assistant, while also working as a promoter for FM104 & Dublin’s Q102. When asked about his favourite MPS memory, Kennedy said: “Getting to be the TV Manager for 24/25, but I’m also looking forward to creating even more amazing memories as Chair.”

Vice-Chair – Molly McGurrin
Molly McGurrin was formerly the society’s Secretary (2024/2025), and has taken on the role of Vice-Chair with passion and energy. She is a final year communications student who’s role within the committee is to support and assist the Chair, in ensuring the smooth running of the society. She has been one of the hosts of the DCUFm podcast and show The Lore for the past three years- a radio show and podcast about friendship, gossip, and lifestyle. Molly’s favourite MPS memory is “the trip we did to Prague in first year!” With her friendly smile and warm heart, she’s sure to make everyone feel welcome.

Secretary – Jake Farrell
Jake Farrell is nothing short of a hard worker. A final-year Computer Science student, Jake has been part of multiple committees and recently spent six months as a Software Engineer Intern at Workday. He was previously the MPS Webmaster (for two years) and is currently also the Webmaster for FotoSoc. His favourite thing about MPS is “the hands-on technical experience you get with audio equipment in DCUfm and video broadcast production with DCUtv.” His favourite memories? “Every 24-hour broadcast – it’s truly one of the best college events of all time.”

Editor-in-Chief – Leonor Selas do Amaral
Leonor Selas do Amaral is a final-year student in Communications studies. Her commitment to TCV began as Chief Sub-Editor in first year, later becoming Deputy Editor-in-Chief, before stepping into her current role as Editor-in-Chief last year. But Leonor’s passion for news and politics extends far beyond the paper. She co-hosts NewsWire, DCUfm’s flagship news show, and recently returned from a PR internship in Washington, D.C. Originally from Portugal, with experience living in several countries, Leonor brings a unique perspective to MPS. Her favourite part of MPS? “The people and sense of community you get. Everyone shares the same love for media, and it’s so heartwarming to be around people who feel the same way.”

Deputy Editor-in-Chief – Katie O’Shaughnessy
Katie O’Shaughnessy is a final-year Journalism student who has devoted herself fully to The College View during her time at DCU. She was nominated Chief of News in her first year and became Editor-in-Chief in her second year. A dedicated journalist and strong writer, Katie’s passion for TCV has been proven time and time again. Her favourite MPS memory is “attending the SMEDIAS back in April in the stunning Mansion House. I was so excited to be nominated for an award and to celebrate our other fabulous MPS nominees!”

TV Manager – Ailish Connor
Ailish Connor is one half of this year’s TV Manager duo, alongside Mya Breen. Together, they oversee all cameras and TV equipment, lead the TV team, and organise the yearly 24-hour broadcast. A final-year Journalism student, Ailish recently spent three months living in a tent in rural Quebec. Last year, she was one of the four presenters hosting the 24-hour broadcast in aid of Focus Ireland – her favourite MPS memory to date.

TV Manager – Mya Breen
Mya Breen is the other half of this year’s TV Managers. A final-year Communications student and avid sports fan, Mya hopes to one day work with Shelbourne FC or Liverpool FC. Mya hopes to bring more sports content to DCUtv and to hopefully collaborate with DCU Soccer in the future. Outside of MPS, Mya is part of FM104’s promotions team. She also hosted and took part in the Lip Sync Battle during the 24-hour broadcast. When asked what she’s most looking forward to this year, she said: “I’m so excited to get started and see what amazing things Ailish and I can come up with – keep your eyes peeled for great content!”

FM Manager – Holly O’Neill
Holly O’Neill is one half of this year’s FM Managers, working alongside Sarah Duff. Together, they oversee all DCUfm shows and ensure the radio station runs smoothly. Holly co-hosts DCUfm’s flagship show Limelight and also writes for Missy.ie, Ireland’s number one teen magazine. She’s a big fan of musical theatre and, alongside MPS, is also part of the DCU Drama committee (PRO). Previously, Holly was Events Manager (2024/2025).  Her favourite MPS memories? “Floor managing the past two 24-hour broadcasts” and “planning the 40th birthday celebration.”

FM Manager – Sarah Duff
Previously a TV Manager (2024/2025), Sarah Duff has strong technical skills across multiple forms of media. A final-year Communications student, Sarah hosts Soundwaves, a music podcast, and co-hosts Limelight on DCUfm. Her favourite thing about MPS? “It’s a place where people come together to enjoy media and do something we all love. Through it, you make friends for life while having the most fun EVER.” Last year, Sarah and Sam organised the DCUTv 24-hour broadcast, raising over €10,000 for Focus Ireland. This year, she and Holly are planning a 12-hour broadcast, hoping to once again raise a substantial amount for charity.

Events Manager – Beth O’Connor
Beth O’Connor, a second-year Multimedia student, is one half of this year’s Events Manager team. Along with Douglas Murray, she is responsible for creating and running all MPS events. Despite only joining a year ago, Beth has already made her mark. She says: “It’s shocking I’ve only been part of MPS for a year because it’s the most fun I’ve had in college.” She loves her radio show, the broadcasts, and the social events- calling it all “an easy way to make friends and just the best fun.”

Events Manager – Douglas Murray
Douglas Murray, a final-year Law and Media student, completes the Events Manager duo with Beth. He has shown passion for MPS events throughout his time in the society – and is equally passionate about Sonic the Hedgehog and Smosh! Asked what he loves most about MPS, Douglas said: “Probably the community that’s been built around it. Everyone is so genuinely kind and supportive, and it makes creating content super fun and collaborative.” His favourite memory? “The broadcasts – the vibe around the U Building was incredible, and it was awesome coming together for such great causes!”

PRO – Jane O’Reilly
Ever wondered who makes all the MPS social media posts and graphics? That’s Jane O’Reilly – aka “JOR.” She manages content creation and graphic design with unmatched talent. Her favourite thing about MPS? “The friends it helped me make that I’ll probably have for life. My college experience would not be what it is without the society and what it gave me.” A final-year Communications student, JOR was shortlisted for Best Publicity Campaign at last year’s Clubs and Societies Awards. This year, she’s aiming for the win. Her favourite MPS memory? The trip abroad to Prague.

Sponsorship Officer – Sophie Alexander
Sophie Alexander is witty, dedicated, and a huge F1 fan. As Sponsorship Officer, she finds sponsors for MPS events and the society as a whole. A final-year Primary Teaching student, Sophie spent last year studying abroad in Denmark and has worked as a lifeguard in the US for the past three summers.
She was also a presenter for the DCUtv 24-hour broadcast two years ago, which she describes as “one of the best things I have ever done!”

Treasurer – Sophie King
Meet Sophie King – the number-one fan of the colour pink. A final-year Communications student, Sophie has been MPS Treasurer for two years. But her involvement in DCU doesn’t stop there: she has served in the Students’ Union twice, been on six different committees, and recently won a national SAAI award. She’s also been Front of House Manager for DCU Drama, First-Year Rep for Glee, and somehow balanced it all with normal college life. Sophie also completed a summer internship with Chartered Accountants Ireland. Her favourite MPS memory? “Getting my first ever radio show in first year!”

Webmaster – Sam Murray
Sam Murray is a final-year Media and English student – and apparently ambidextrous! As Webmaster, he keeps the MPS website running smoothly. When asked for his favourite memory, Sam said: “I love the MPS broadcasts – the bonding and the vibes are always amazing. I loved doing tech and, for some reason, in my first year I did six shows (not recommended).” A fun fact? “I can write with both hands – it comes in handy as a Webmaster!”

First-Year Rep – Aibhe Devilly
Though only recently elected, First-Year Rep Aibhe Devilly has already impressed with her passion, drive, and commitment to MPS. A first-year Media and English student, she recently completed a summer internship at an insurance company. When asked what she’s most excited about, Aibhe said: “Meeting new people who share my interest in media, and making lifelong friends and memories.”
