Former DCU student Mary Hayes launches the Too Into You podcast to empower women in their relationships. The podcast was launched by Women’s Aid last Thursday (as a Galentine’s treat!) and offers clear & caring advice for those subjected to abuse in their relationships.
The podcast was started to fill an absence of conversation about healthy relationships. It offers women an avenue to assess their relationships through a clear, conversational, and realistic format.
In their first episode, Mary speaks with influencer Keelin Moncrieff about what love should feel like: “Safe, respectful & free from control”. Mary and Keelin discuss red and green flags and how to discern one from the other. “Be in tune with your intuition and your gut” is Keelin’s advice when toeing the line.
On the second episode, Mary speaks with Jody Duggan. Jody forwent her anonymity during her ex-partner’s abuse trial so she could share her story. Jody speaks frankly and openly about the emotional and physical abuse she experienced in her first relationship and her mental state throughout the relationship, reporting and sitting in court, all the way to now.
At the end of the episodes, Mary speaks with Madeline Campbell – the Too Into You Officer. They break down the conversations that Mary has and analyse them from an academic lens: providing definitions for abuse terms, outlining how to understand and spot red flags and giving listeners insight into how legal recourse can work in these situations.
The College View was delighted to have been invited to the podcast’s launch event in Hen’s Teeth. The already picture-perfect location was decorated with Too Into You’s signature pinks, purples & hearts. The vibes were fun and sweet, putting women at the forefront of the celebration. A DJ booth, goodie bags & gorgeous food finished off the occasion. The College View got the opportunity to speak with Mary Hayes about her time as a communications student at DCU!

The Too Into You podcast is available on Spotify & Apple, with new episodes released on the first Monday of every month. You can also take Too Into You’s Relationship Quiz on their website.
