On Monday, the 15th of April 2024, DCU’s Media Production Society saw the election of a brand-new committee for the 2024/2025 academic year. After many speeches, questions, votes, and smiles, a new committee has finally been established. The elected are as follows:
CHAIRPERSON: SADHBH O’GRADY KEELY
Sadhbh O’Grady Keely is a second-year Communications and Gaeilge student. She was previously the Events Manager and has now been elected Chairperson for the 2024/2025 academic year.
VICE CHAIRPERSON: MATTHEW WILLIS
Matthew Willis is a second-year Multimedia student. He was previously FM manager and has been elected Vice Chairperson for the 2024/2025 academic year.
TV MANAGERS: SARAH DUFF & SAM KENNEDY
Sarah Duff and Sam Kennedy are both currently completing their first year in Communication studies. Sam Kennedy was one of four presenters for the 24-hour broadcast, and Sarah Duff won the tech award for her outstanding work in the 24-hour broadcast. They have now been elected as the TV managers for the 2024/2025 academic year.
FM MANAGERS: LAUREN JOYCE & EOIN O’SULLIVAN
Lauren Joyce is a second-year Communications student. She was previously the Treasurer for MPS, host of DCU FM’s limelight, and head of podcast for DCU’s magazine, HER CAMPUS. Eoin O’Sullivan is a first-year communications student and founder of his radio show “The Dug Out,” which follows all things football-based. Lauren and Eoin have been elected as the new FM managers for the 2024/2025 academic year.
EVENT MANAGERS: HOLLY O’NEILL & SHELBY BRENNAN
Holly O’Neill and Shelby Brennan are both first-year communications students. They have been elected event managers for the 2024/2025 academic year.
THE COLLEGE VIEW EDITOR-IN-CHIEF: KATIE O’SHAUGHNESSY
Katie O’Shaughnessy is a first-year journalism student and an honorary member of the TCV team. She was previously Chief of News for The College View and has now been elected Editor-in-Chief. More information to follow on this soon.
THE COLLEGE VIEW DEPUTY CHIEF EDITOR: LEONOR SELAS AMARAL
Leonor Selas Amaral is a first-year communications student and an honorary member of the TCV team. She was previously The College View’s subeditor and has now been elected as Deputy Chief Editor. More information to follow on this soon.
PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER (PRO): JANE O’REILLY
Jane O’Reilly is a first-year communications student. She was elected Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the 2024/2025 academic year.
BRAND DESIGN OFFICER (BDO): LIAM O’KEEFFE (RE-ELECTED)
Liam O’Keeffe is a third-year Marketing Innovation and Technology (MINT) student. He is currently completing his INTRA placement and was previously Brand Design Officer (BDO) for the 2023/2024 academic year. Liam has been re-elected as Brand Design Officer (BDO) for the 2024/2025 academic year.
SPONSORSHIP OFFICER: GRACE COLLINS
Grace Collins is a first-year communications student. She has been elected as a Sponsorship officer for the 2024/2025 academic year.
WEBMASTER: JAKE FARRELL (RE-ELECTED)
Jake Farrell is a second-year computer science student and has recently been elected as chair of the Redbrick Society. Jake was previously the webmaster for the 2023/2024 academic year and has been re-elected as webmaster for the 2024/2025 academic year.
TREASURER: SOPHIE KING
Sophie King is a first-year communications student. She has recently been elected as Societies officer (DCUSU) and has been elected as Treasurer for the 2024/2025 academic year.
SECRETARY: MOLLY MCGURRIN
Molly McGurrin is a first-year communications student. She has been elected Secretary for the 2024/2025 academic year.
1ST YEAR REP: TBD IN SEPTEMBER
The first-year representative for the 2024/2025 season will be elected in September, at the beginning of the academic year.
