New faces, places, items and more pending in the newest update to the Animal Crossing series. Time to dust off that Switch you bought during lockdown as Nintendo have announced a substantial update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons coming November 5th 2021.
The update sees the return of some much beloved characters including Brewster the rooster, who first appeared on our islands in Animal Crossing: Wild World. Brewster is the fashionable owner of The Roost coffee shop and will be joining Blathers atop the museum.
Other characters moving to your island this November include Kapp’n, a turtle-like creature who will bring you on mystery island tours in exchange for nook miles. These mystery islands could be full of foreign flora for you to harvest or have a different season or time of day to your island.
An expansion to Harv’s island will allow new merchants to open up their businesses, such as Harriet the hairdresser and Katrina the fortune teller. Familiar visitors including Redd and Sahara will also be found here.
Ever committed to improving your quality of life, Nook Inc. will be offering new supports. Strengthen your community and your community spirit with group stretching at the plaza or have your Resident Representative enact new ordinances. These ordinances will customise activity on your island, allowing you to reduce the rate at which weeds grow or have your islanders awake and active earlier in the day.
Island living will become more interactive as you can now grow a variety of new vegetables to use as you learn to cook.
In addition to the new update, paid DLCs will be available. The ‘Happy Home Paradise’ expansion will allow players to join a Paradise Planning Team where they will travel to a chain of islands where they can design holiday homes and other buildings such as restaurants and schools.
Your home’s exterior will have more customisable options to better fit in with the theme of your island and its storage will be expanding to make room for the new items being added to the game. Fans will be delighted to know that the froggy chair will be returning to nook’s cranny in the near future!
So weed those islands, squash those cockroaches and get ready for the new breath of life coming to everyone’s favourite lockdown fixation.
