Ed Sheeran has announced a number of Irish dates as part of his upcoming tour.
The Bad Habits singer will kick things off in Croke Park on April 23rd as announced by Aiken productions.
This is just one of the many Irish venues which will see him play, including Cork’s Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Limerick’s Thomond Park, and Belfast’s Boucher Road Playing Fields.
The tour named, the ‘+ – = ÷ x Tour‘, but pronounced ‘Mathematics Tour’, is in support of his new album ‘=’ which is to be released in October.
Sheeran and his team released a statement encouraging fans to avoid unofficial secondary ticket selling sites.
“Once again, Ed and his team have a strict stance against anyone using unofficial secondary ticketing sites in order to try and stop fans from being exploited when trying to buy tickets for his shows.
“The shows on this tour will use specially developed mobile digital ticketing technology which have safeguards in place to ensure genuine fans are buying genuine tickets and to stop unofficial secondary ticketing sites, and unofficial ticket sellers, from being able to resell tickets at inflated prices and rip off fans.”
The album and tour come after an influx of mixed reviews from critics on his latest single releases.
A review from The Independent’s Adam White branded his song ‘Bad Habits’ as “A woozy, stilted comeback from pop’s most boring man.”
Pitchfork’s Quinn Moreland shared similar sentiments describing the single as, “painfully predictable”.
