NUI Galway became the first ever Irish university to appoint a vice president for Equality and Diversity when they awarded the position to Prof Anne Scott last Friday afternoon.

While working for a Chicago based law firm, Sidley & Austin, she met her future husband, Barack Obama. She describes the early days of their relationship of how she would refer to him as an “exotic geek” and later described him as a unicorn.
