[dropcap]It’s[/dropcap] been in the pipeline for quite some time now, but the world’s most popular retailer for women’s lingerie, amongst many other products, Victoria’s Secret will finally open its doors to Irish fans on Grafton street before Christmas.
Victoria’s Secret is a hugely successful American company which sells womenswear and beauty products, but is most famous for their stunning collection of lingerie. Currently, Irish consumers can only buy their products either online or at their store in Terminal One at Dublin Airport, so the opening of the flagship store in the city centre has stirred plenty of interest and excitement from fans of the fashion chain.
However, in the midst of all the hype and excitement surrounding the opening of Victoria’s Secret, it can be easy to forget that there are other shops out there selling similar products.
Although this retailer launching in Dublin is a massive deal and will be welcomed dutifully, it is worth noting that Dublin city has a few hidden gems. Even though their collections may not be seen modelled at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, their products are just as equally luxurious.
Ann Summers
With two stores in the city located on O’Connell Street and Henry Street, Ann Summers offer their customers an extensive range of deluxe lingerie. The fashion brand has had a reputation for many years for being overly sexual, and has been essentially branded as an “adult store”. Although you’re not likely to see their full range of products on sale in Penney’s anytime soon, they do in fact sell gorgeous lingerie for all body types too.
Peaches & Cream
This independent lingerie store is located on South Anne Street and stocks over 20 European brands, meaning customers are spoiled for choice. The shop features regularly on TV3’s Ireland AM and Xposé, and because the employees double up as stylists, their customer service is unrivaled in the sense that staff will take however long is needed to ensure their customers get the perfect fit.
Susan Hunter Lingerie
This lavish boutique is located in the Westbury Mall on Grafton Street. The shop was established in the 80s and they describe themselves as a “small shop with a big welcome” and “old-fashioned in a 21st century way”. They stock modern fabrics and styles, but pride themselves on classic designs using pure cottons and silks to cater for every woman, any body type, any size.
