DCU has fallen from 46th to 53rd in the latest league of environmentally friendly universities, according to the latest Greenmetric surveys. The rankings were compiled from self-declared data from each university.
UCC and UL are the only Irish universities who tabled in the top 20 as TCD placed 104th and DIT ranked 193rd. UCD were not registered in the rankings.
The survey, carried out and compiled by Universitas Indonesia, measures the “greenness” of each campus including the preservation of lawns and forests. It also includes the sustainability of the colleges including the use of energy-efficient appliances, waste recycling, environmental course offerings and the number of cars entering the campus.
