Paris Fashion Week: Louis Vuitton
Flicking through the colourful images from Louis Vuitton’s A/W 14 collection, it is as if you are catapulted back in time to the quirky style of ‘That 70’s Show’.

Under new designer Nicolas Ghesquiere the pressure was on for the brand to maintain its covetable reputation this season at Paris Fashion Week. Taking over from none other than Marc Jacobs, Ghesquiere created an eye catching collection filled with vintage prints, skater mini skirts and waist cinching belts.

The opening look on the runway prepared the audience for the modern but vintage brilliance that was to come. A black trench coat with a sharp, clean cut tangerine collar over a cream turtle neck shift dress opened the show displaying clean lines, femininity and Parisian chic.

The trench coat and skater dress were combined to create an A-line number with front zip detailing and of course, a belted waist. Shoulders were subtly defined by the upper section of the piece balancing the short A-line skirt element.

Accessories were not neglected and how could they be with bags by this brand being a wardrobe necessity in many fashion lovers’ view. Next season would not be complete without an array of boots in all shaped and sizes. This collection featured black leather knee highs plus some brown patent ankle highs with buckles.

As for the bags, a rectangular satchel with fasteners similar to that of a jewellery box and the classic Vuitton print was enough to say job well done.

H&M Outerwear
With the announcement of a 375 store expansion across the globe we take a look at H&M’s stylish Spring/Summer range including the classic trench coat and varsity bomber jacket.

The trench coat featured heavily on the Spring/Summer runways varying in colour and style but keeping the classy undertone of this staple piece. The high street haven is currently stocking various versions of the coat, suitable for sophistication at work or elegance at night.

The original beige trench with oversized buttons and a tiny waist elongates the body and completes a day to night look. Just team with a chiffon blouse, fitted denims and heeled boots for a simple but chic outfit. (€39.95)

The wool blend jacket from H&M also offers itself as versatile outerwear. The floaty, lightly checked coat can be used for work, casual wear or to throw over an LBD. (€49.95)

Textures and fabrics of all sorts are used throughout the S/S 14 range to create modern, urban pieces, one being the suede jacket retailing at €199.00. Leather sleeves and a suede torso combine to make this short, beautifully tailored jacket.

Yet another trench appears in the collection, this time in a washed denim version. This puts a modern twist on the classic coat embracing summer colours and lighter fabrics. A detachable tie at the waist forms the hourglass shape and adds form to the fresh, floaty look.

The final pick of H&M’s S/S 14 outerwear is a black, glossy bomber jacket. The piece retails at €24.95 and is a staple piece for any girl’s wardrobe this season.

Nicole Scherzinger X Missguided
The countdown is finally over with the ticking clock on Missguided’s website being replaced by the three toned, sultry collection by Nicole Scherzinger.

Black, white and cobalt blue is the colour palette for the cut- out featured collection. Fitted pieces with daring sheer elements ensure these dresses, jumpsuits and crop tops are specifically for the body confident.

Midi dresses are a prime feature of Nicole’s designs for the online store with many sporting long sheer sleeves or high neck elements. Sultry but sophisticated the designs echo the singer’s own personal style.

Block colour panelling is evident in the mini dresses of the collaboration creating bold statements and perfect party looks.

For those not so comfortable with the bodycon look there are some pieces such as the white or black shift dress with fishnet panelling that may take your fancy.
Prices range from €27.91 for a crop top with fishnet sleeves to €69.77 for a faux leather cut out jumpsuit.
