Michael: The Chain Gang of 1974 – “Sleepwalking”
These guys have gotten one hell of a break in having their song ‘Sleepwalking’ appear on the official trailer for the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto V. It also helps that it is a terrific song too.
Daniel: Badfinger – “Baby Blue”
Anyone who enjoyed the Breaking Bad finale last week will certainly be familiar with the concluding song. Baby Blue is one of a number of hits by 1970s British Rock band Badfinger. It’s mellow; it’s cool and it’s now irrevocably Breaking Bad. Online streaming of the track has increased by 9000% in the last ten days, and I’m probably responsible for about half of that.
Claire: Two Door Cinema Club – “Changing of the Seasons”
A welcome return to form for TDCC, they played a stormer at Electric Picninc and the new EP promises to be just as catchy as that gem of a first album.
