Summer Ball eagerly anticipated

More than 800 students bought tickets for this year’s summer ball in the first three hours of going on sale.

The high tickets sales come following comments from Education Officer Aaron Clogher to The College View that “a very poor number of students attended on-campus events this year”.

The SU has used their Facebook and Twitter page to promote the event vigorously for the past two weeks.

DCU SU has secured a live performance from The Dead Presidents. They have also confirmed a James Buckley DJ set on the night. Buckley is best known for his role as Jay Cartwright in British comedy show The Inbetweeners.

The HUB will be opened completely, including the old bar, to accommodate the various activities planned on the night.

Tanning booths will be set up to give students a summer glow and a silent disco will feature in The Hub. There will also be a free BBQ for the first 250 students.

“This year’s summer ball will be an event thoroughly enjoyed by everyone” said DCU SU.

A world record-breaking attempt is also planned this week as DCU SU is organising the biggest ever ‘Rock the Boat’ on campus.
