1) Kim Kierkegaardashian (@KimKierkegaard)
Kim Kardashian is a reality TV star and socialite, famous for…nothing, but most recently for carrying the fruit of Kanye West’s loins. Soren Kierkegaard was a Danish philosopher, most famous for being the first existentialist philosopher. While they probably couldn’t have enjoyed a conversation in real life, when mashed together on Twitter their thoughts and observations are an almost chilling commentary on human life. I’m serious. Like, this might be the way forward in studying philosophy.

2) Star Trek and the City (@trekandthecity)
Did you know that Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones) starred in a Star Trek film before becoming a household name on Sex and the City? Neither did I, but that must have served as the inspiration for this Twitter account. Here, Carrie Bradshaw’s groan-inducing, pun-laden voiceover is paired with the narration from Star Trek. Like Kim Kierkegaardashian, the two go together a lot better than you think they should, with some thought-provoking results.

3) Social Needier (@uokhun)
We all know the drill. Someone you vaguely know posts a moany status on Facebook, or tweets something in an enragingly passive aggressive manner. A couple of seconds later, a comment appears beneath it: “U ok hun?” The Social Needier account portrays with pinpoint precision that group of people who use social media for one thing and one thing only – whinging. One scroll through and you’ll spot all the hallmarks of the Social Needier: excess punctuation, wild misuse of grammar, and the infuriating, trademark Social Needier response, “Cant tell u on here. Mail xx”
