Longitude Festival- What to expect

Jade McNamee

After a long two years without festivals and with events being curtailed and cancelled.

Two years without scouring the internet for the ‘it’ outfit as well as dousing yourself in glitter and heading out into the sun with your friends to have a boogie to some of your favourite artists, we can finally all let out that deep breath we’ve been holding for way too long.

One of Ireland’s biggest and most loved festivals is back with a bang. Longitude 2022 is back and it pulled out all the stops for its comeback. Get the glitter ready!

Longitude will return to Marlay Park this summer for July 1st-3rd giving us big headline acts such as Dave, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, The Kid Laroi, Tyler, the creator as well as A$AP Rocky set to take on the main stage.

Longitude first made its debut in 2013 giving the spotlight to bands such as Kodaline, Hudson Taylor as well as MØ. As the festival evolved we have seen bigger names take to the stage in the past few years with appearances from Cardi B, Stormzy, Dua Lipa as well as so many more.

Since its evolution it sees thousands of teenagers flooding to the festival turning this spectacular weekend into an action packed couple of days with crazy outfits, colourful hair and more glitter than you thought possible. Between pop up stands from radio stations as well as some delicious food from the many food trucks positioned around the park, you can expect free goodies and a weekend that keeps you dancing until you drop.

On top of the fantastic headliners this year there are even more of your favourite artists taking over some other stages scattered around the park. Be prepared to swoon over Jack Harlow as well as go crazy for Ski Mask the Slump God, Baby Keem or Aitch as well as loads more.

Not only that, there’s still loads more sets to be announced. You can keep up to date with everything on the official Longitude instagram page.

According to Longitude’s official website, day tickets will cost €99.50 and weekend tickets will set you back €239.50 with all tickets inclusive of a booking fee. Most ticket options are still available on their website.

Will you be attending this year?
