DCU recieves seven bullying and harassment complaints over past five years

Records released under the Freedom of Information Act show that DCU has received seven formal complaints about bullying and harassment over the last five years.

All seven formal complaints have proceeded to full investigation, but no complaint has been held in up in full, but rather failures in process were identified.  None were found to be malicious.

Of the seven complaints, five were male and two were female. Four complaints were staff and three from students.

There were six male respondents and one female respondent and of these six were faculty and one was made against students.

These complaints contribute to the tripling of legal fees involving staff members in Irish universities from what they were in 2010.
