The DCU ladies basketball side finished as runners-up in a freshers tournament at Carlow IT last weekend.
DCU opened their account in tremendous style, recording a hugely impressive 38-19 win over NUI Maynooth. However, in their subsequent outing, DCU were outdone by a stronger UCC side and consequently claimed only second place in their group.
In the semi-final, DCU narrowly overcame UL by 25-22, setting up a rematch with UCD in the decider. Yet again, UCD proved too hot to handle and DCU had to be content with the runners-up tag, losing out on a final scoreline of 32-27.
