Two men on bikes made off with a sum of money from the Hodges Figgis bookstore on campus today. The incident occurred at around 1.45pm this afternoon as shop takings were being moved from the campus bookshop to a secure cash-in-transit van, the bookshop confirmed to The College View.
One of the men is reported to have been armed according to witnesses, and was overheard shouting to his accomplice “Shoot him!” during the raid. No one was injured.
Gardaí and DCU Security arrived on the scene shortly after the robbery occurred. Special Branch Gardaí are investigating the incident.
